Cartonnage is an amazing technique. You can make your own boxes, cases and much more out of cardboard, fabric and glue using Cartonnage!! And your pieces will be sturdy as wood, but made with your favorite fabric! They are great handmade gifts.

This DIY cartonnage Kit comes with all cardboard you need to make your own reusable journal cover, as shown in the pictures. The pieces of paper (chipboard and poster board) are precut in the right sizes you need for this project. The refilable notebook cover will measure 8" x 6" closed and will fit on standard 7" x 4 3/8" 1-subject notebooks with 100 sheets (Five star), which can be purchased at most office supply stores. Once you use up the notebook, just remove the cover and place it on another one! Great to keep memories, as a recipe book or take notes. With DIY kits there is no worries about cutting paper! The journal is NOT included in this DIY kit! Fabric is not included.

The instruction is a very clear PDF tutorial (eBook) with lots of pictures showing in details step by step to guide you through the whole process (it is not video, it's eBook), no steps missing, no guessing! Inside the kit you will find the password and easy directions to download the instruction to your computer. 

For making the cover you will need this kit, two coordinating fabrics (1 fat quarter each), glue (Glue-All from Elmer's), rotary cutter, cutting board, scissors, a small paint roller with tray, paint brush and masking tape. Embellishments like ribbons, elastics are optional materials.

Cartonnage tools (spatula, acrylic spacers and corner tool) will facilitate the process and give a better finishing for your project. Find them in the shop or online!
